Pin Up 2024

Introducing the limited edition Pin Up 2024, a playful parody of the traditional pin-up calendars found in garages around the world. In this ambitious one-month project, I take on the role of sexy clown, performing in hand-crafted tableaux made from everyday materials and costumes. These scenes are staged in my familiar locations, including after-hours at a cafe I was employed at, a friend's farm and 'shaggers rock' a landmark of my hometown. Captured using a single roll of 35mm film on a point-and-shoot camera. This process embraces the fast pace and raw aesthetic of amateur pornography found in publications like Readers' Wives, now relics of a bygone era.

The snapshots are comical, and surreal, yet uncannily familiar, utilizing the harsh flash aesthetic of online "bargain-bin" pornography. Pin Up 2024 shines a light on our barely evolved instincts, and disrupts the passive consumption of sexual imagery. It offers a satire on the ever-present influence of patriarchy and capitalism in our most intimate spaces, not to incite shame but to invite a sense of playful clarity.
